How the Game is played
BlastBall is played where 1 team takes the field as in a normal game. A BlastBall is placed on the BlastTee and the 1st batter (from the other team) hits the ball and runs to the BlastBase. If the batter reaches the base (only 1 base is used in this game) before a outfield team either catches the BlastBall in the air or fields the ball and yells “Blast”, the batter scores a run. If the ball is caught or fielded and “Blast” is yelled before the batter gets to the BlastBase, then the batter is out.
The BlastBase is audible, with a loud “HONK” that the kids will love to hear whenever someone stomps on the base. When the ball is caught in the “field”, the player can throw the BlastBall back to an adult at home plate. Gloves/mitts are not needed because of the size of the ball – there is no fear factor of being hit with the ball because of the softness of the ball. Also, batting helmets are not needed because the BlastBall is not being pitched or thrown to make the out.
